Ages 6 to 9

Since its inception the Primary Choir has been nurturing and developing the young voices of singers ages 6–9. No previous choral experience is required to join the Primary Choir, just a love for music and a willingness to learn.

Like all of our choirs, the Primary Choir is an educationally based choral program which employs Kodály’s methods of educating children to excite and teach these young singers about choral music.

Throughout the season the Primary Choir develops basic musical skills using a combination of music games and age-appropriate repertoire. The Primary choir participates in three major productions throughout the choral season as well as the St. Albert Rotary Music Festival where they have received first place in the 10 and under choral category for the past ten years. In 2017, the Primary Choir was awarded first place in the Alberta Provincial Music Festival.
